With the earlier rumour of the next-gen iPod Touch with 3G radio, seems like this idea is indeed sensible and will most likely to be launched along with iPod's elder brother, the iPhone 5 this fall.
So far, the current iPod Touch 4 does just great, plays superb games, surf the web, shoot HD videos, etc. all is okay except for one: connectivity.
Connectivity is now crucial. The iPod Touch is only fully functional with the presence of the internet, other than that it's not more than a portable media player.
Yes, I do know some people are now starting to sign up contracts with MiFi providers to have internet on-the-go where WiFi connectivity is not available.
Adding up with the iOS 5 released this fall, it just makes sense that the next-gen iPod will likely to have 3G along with iOS 5.
It is also rumoured that the next high-end iPod Touch 5 will also have an integrated SIM card, just like what was rumoured to be on the iPhone 5.
However, some readers are not very anticipating this next-gen iPod, as some of them said, " I already have the next-gen iPod Touch, it's called iPhone 3G."
If the rumours are true, then this is likely to be the "cheaper iPhone" Apple has claim to include in the release along with the iOS 5.
But still, with all the features of iOS 5, it would still be sensible to have this upgrade.
